How to Choose Your Gemstone from Your Birth Chart
The right gemstone is chosen from your Lagna, planetary strengths, and Dasha periods — not your Sun sign. A step-by-step look at how a proper recommendation is made.
The Sun-Sign Mistake
Websites that assign gemstones by Sun sign or birth month treat sacred remedies like fashion accessories. Vedic tradition is precise: the stone must strengthen a planet that is benefic for your specific chart — and that depends on your Lagna, not your Sun sign.
The Proper Method
- Cast the exact Kundali. Birth date, exact time, and place — the Lagna changes every two hours.
- Identify functional benefics. For each Lagna, certain planets are yogakarakas (givers of fortune) and others are functional malefics. A Blue Sapphire that blesses a Vrishabha Lagna native can trouble a Simha Lagna native.
- Check the planet’s strength. A weak benefic gains from a gemstone; an already-strong planet may not need one.
- Time it with the Dasha. The running Mahadasha and Antardasha decide which support matters now.
- Prescribe weight, metal, and finger. Typically 3–6 carats for primary stones, in the planet’s metal, on its finger, first worn at its hora on its weekday.
A Worked Example
A Karka (Cancer) Lagna native running Guru Mahadasha: Jupiter rules the auspicious 9th house and is a strong benefic. If Jupiter is weak in the chart, Yellow Sapphire (పుష్యరాగము) in gold on the index finger is the classic prescription — while a Blue Sapphire would be firmly avoided.
Getting a Personal Recommendation
Mrs. Madhavi Sharma offers two paths. The Gemstone Audio Report analyses your chart and delivers a recorded recommendation with full wearing instructions. Or take a personal consultation to discuss career, marriage, or health context alongside the remedy.
Once you know your stone, order it the same day: ready-made rings in your size, or loose stones from the catalog — every piece authenticated, energised, and delivered with certificate and wearing instructions.
